Being a flexible player in the chemical industry, Matco also considers the ecological impact of its activities.
The buildings are heated and cooled through geothermal energy, a non-polluting and renewable energy source. Fossil fuels are not used on the Matco site, therefore no gas connection nor energy-wasting cooling systems. The system is made out of vertical heat exchangers that are put in holes drilled into the ground. Nevertheless, the cooling process guarantees a comfortable and ergonomical indoor climate. Moreover, the generated heat can later be re-used after it has temporarily been stored in the ground.
Additionally, Matco invested in solar panels with a full performance of 203.5 kWp or an annual output of 190 MWh.
